Walk To Disney's EPCOT

Nancy and I are passionate about relaxing, memorable vacations for older adults and seniors, especially at Disney Parks and Resorts. That was the primary reason why we started the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group in 2024. Other seniors seem to be agreeing. This, the original online community of Disney luvin’ seniors, has now grown to over 71,000 members in less than a year.

This article will summarize the key aspects to the brief journey to the International Gateway entrace to EPCOT. It is also known affectionately by many as the ‘back’ entrance to EPCOT. From this entrance you will walk out onto the World Showcase area of Disney’s EPCOT. To the left will be the Rose & Crown pub within the United Kingdom area. To the right will be the bridge to the France area.

The walk to Disney’s EPCOT can begin from any number of places. Many guests staying at their Crescent Lake hotel or Disney resort will simply start from there.

You can also begin your walk, although it is a much longer walk, from Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Per Google Maps it is approximately a 1/2 a mile (don’t worry, you will walk or use your scooter for between 5 and 10 miles in no time at EPCOT) or about 9 minutes depending on your gate.

Along the way you have beautiful views of Crescent Lake. Across Crescent Lake you will see Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resort. And you will even see the Villas side of Disney’s BoardWalk Resort as shown in the picture below.

Do be aware that there is a rise of about, oh, I’d say 6 to 7 feet as you approach the bridge which crosses Crescent Lake. Then there is about a slightly higher, or so it seems, 7 to 8 foot drop back down again once you cross over the bridge.

Alternate Transportation Is Of Course Available

Walk to Disney's ECPOT or Friendship Boats

This bridge allows Disney’s Friendship Boats to pass underneath. They take guests from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and all Crescent Lake hotels and resorts, including Disney’s BoardWalk, over to EPCOT.

As you approach the security back check at the entrance to EPCOT you will see on yourleft the EPCOT station for Disney’s Skyliner.
