Disney For Seniors Menu

Many people are very nervous about using the wide variety of Disney World transportation options when traveling with a scooter. This is very understandable. Doing something, anything, for the first time can be a little intimidating, even if many have done it before. Even if it’s at Walt Disney World or Disneyland resorts.

Let’s talk about it!

Disney World Transportation Buses and Scooters

Every Disney bus at Walt Disney World accepts 2 to 3 mobility scooters. The interior of the bus in the picture below will accept three.

A ramp will fold out of the side of the bus, and you ride the scooter right on the bus, no need to disassemble it.

If you are nervous, the Disney Cast Member drivers will help you, or even steer it for you.

Once in place, the driver will attach straps to the scooter to hold it in place. You can stay on the scooter, or transfer to a regular seat.

Disney World Transportation Monorail and Scooters

Nothing says Walt Disney World transportation than a picture of the Disney Monorail.

When you and your party arrive at the front of the line, a Disney Cast Member will direct you to the appropriate line or queue. Once the doors open, they will place a ramp and ask where you are going, and then have you drive on forward, or possibly reverse onto the monorail depending on which direction you will exit the monorail at your destination.

There is a marker on the outside of the door that will alert a Disney Cast Member at your destination Monorail station that you need the ramp.

  1. Good information. I think maybe you meant to say they “chock your wheels” on the skyliner, at least that is what they did when I used it. They put chock blocks to stabilize it. Thanks for the article am hoping to use the other means of transportation when I am down there next time.
