Nancy and I were at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in September 2024. This is our review of the Luau at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa from an older adult’s and seniors’ perspective.
Your Reservation for the Luau at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa
The Luau takes place here on the Halawai Lawn. It is huge as you can see here.
You do not want to be sitting at the back.
This sells out quickly and the seating is assigned based on when you signed up for the Luau. It is not based on when you arrive for check-in. So as soon as you are able to do so Nancy and I strongly encourage you to sign up for this as soon as the date you want to attend opens up for reservations.
Nancy and I paid for the preferred seating option, and between the preferred seating option and signing up the first day we were able to do so, we were assigned amongst the best seats in the house! Just look how close we were to the stage.
Pre-Dinner Activities Before the Luau at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa
When it was 5 o’clock the festivities officially began. Before being escorted to our seats at our assigned table, Nancy and I had our picture taken with some of the Cast Members as you see here.
Our assigned seats for dinner and the show were right up at the stage at the end of the table so there would be no one blocking our view during the stage performances. Amazing!
By the way, the musical group playing were amazing….they played all evening.
Before dinner started, there were several optional activities available to do. At the Na Pua U’I table we received what can best be described as a flower lei for one of our wrists.
As the KaKau station we each received a temporary tatoo…you had your choice of either the ocean or the mountains….Nancy opted for the ocean and I the mountains
I should mention that there were cocktails available before, during and after dinner. They were brought to you, were very good….not watered down at all…..and you could have as many as you liked.
Before dinner there were different performances which were very entertaining.
Again, we had amazing seats for the performances…..remember, pay for the preferred seating and book the first day you can.
When it was time for dinner, our table was the first or second that was released to go to the buffet.
The food was so fresh, so tasty…..better than I thought it would be to be honest.
Yes, both Nancy and I intentionally ate little during the day so we would have room for the wonderful food and of course the deserts!
