Today’s scooter tip revolves around asking the right questions before renting a scooter. There are so many companies that provide scooter rentals near the parks, how do you decide!?!? Asking these 5 questions to the scooter rental company BEFORE you sign on the dotted line should make your scooter rental experience go that much more smoothly.
What If The Scooter BREAKS DOWN When I’m Using It?
Even though mechanical breakdowns are rare, they do happen. The question you need to ask the scooter rental company BEFORE renting a scooter is:
In the event of a mechanical failure while you are in a theme park, what happens?
Some companies will force you to push the scooter out of the park, onto a bus, and get it all the way back to bell services at your resort!!! Hard to believe, but it’s true.
Obviously this would be near impossible for someone who requires a mobility aid! There are some companies who will meet YOU right at the park.
How Does The Scooter Drop Off and Pickup Work?

Everyone knows that there is only one company that is permitted by Disney to have scooters waiting for you with bell services at Disney resorts.
What do all of the other companies do? I can only answer for our company.
When renting from Park Hopper Choppers, we work around your schedule; you don’t work around ours.
We deliver and pickup between 8 am and 11 pm! You tell us when you want us there. It’s very easy. We can even bring it right to your room!
If you are staying at a resort outside of Walt Disney World, we can have it waiting for you with the front desk. And, we can provide a video about the scooter, how it works and some instructions via text messages if desired.
Where Can The Scooter Be Dropped Off?

Many companies will only drop scooters off at resorts. They do this because it’s the easiest place to deliver, but as a result, most people believe that this is the only place they can be delivered. This is not true.
There are companies that deliver to resorts, Airbnbs, and even directly to the theme parks! Choose the location that works best for your day and not a location that work’s best for your scooter rental company.
Renting a Scooter – Do Scooter Rental Companies Overbook?
Unfortunately this does happen with some companies on a regular basis. They over sell, counting on some people not showing up.
If everyone does show up, you may have to scramble to find another company to provide a same day scooter delivery.
Renting a Scooter – How Does The Scooter Work?

Does the company from whom you are renting a scooter show you, first hand, how to operate the scooter? Showing you how to control it, protect it from the rain, and how to properly charge a scooter is very important.
This is especially important if you are a first timer. You will want someone to meet you face to face to walk you through it.
I hope these 5 questions will help you have a smoother scooter rental experience.
