Disney for Seniors 1st Anniversary Celebration!

We are the original Disney for Seniors online community. And March 25, 2025 is our 1 year anniversary!

The Disney for Seniors Facebook Group supports the experiences of Disney luvin’ seniors by other Disney luvin’ seniors. This is done to improve seniors’ experience at Disney parks, Disney resorts, Disney restaurants and on Disney Cruise Line holidays around the world in a mutually supportive, respectful, courteous, congenial and hassle free environment.

So, during our first year, what were the Disney for Seniors on-line community’s milestones? During our first year, we have grown from zero to over 91,000 members. Yet, compared to the ‘big boys’ of online Disney fan sites (notice I didn’t use the word ‘communities’ as I think we are different), we are still very small. And, numbers don’t really tell much about a community. So, here are the highlights of our first year.

Disney Luvin’ Seniors Online Community, Year 1

During our first year, we became a private group. We changed from a public Facebook Group because that is the first 10,000 members asked us to do. We’ve all seen the growth in members participating to offer advice and guidance to other Disney luvin’ seniors. This is done in an environment where all questions about a Disney holiday are welcome no matter how often it has been asked.

During our first year, we secured our first sponsor, Park Hopper Choppers. They are among the most respected and reliable scooter rental companies in Central Florida. And that is based on the many unsolicited comments from members of our online community!

Park Hopper Choppers provides Group members with a 10% discount off of scooter rentals. Additionally, Chris and Mary, the owners, also provide advice and guidance in the Facebook Group on scooter selection, usage and much more. They also provide articles on scooters and scooters experiences here in our companion webiste. And, they’ve reduce those annoying ads on this website. Disney for Seniors Park Hopper Choppers

During our first year, we began a periodic series of podcasts on different aspects on the Disney experience of seniors. We cover senior’s experience at Disney parks, Disney resorts and on Disney Cruises. These podcasts are hosted and moderated by our now friend Pete McDevitt on the Pete McDevitt Show.

During our first year, we vetted two travel agents who not only specialize in Disney but who specialize in Disney for older adults, seniors and mobility challenged adults. Group members can contact at no charge either of these two travel agents for assistance with their Disney holiday needs. Nancy and I do operate a travel advisory service that specializes in Disney and in cruises for seniors. Yet, we do not accept as new clients any Group members so we can maintain our independence from Group discussions.

Wait, There’s More!

During our first year, we began this website Disney4Seniors.com. This website acts as a repository of reference materials and articles for Disney luvin’ seniors, examines different aspects of seniors’ experience at Disney parks, Disney resorts and on Disney cruises, and more. We have had wonderful guest writers volunteer their time by sharing their experiences as Disney seniors in the Disney theme parks, at Disney resorts and on Disney cruises through their articles.

Disney for Seniors

During our first year, we had our first Official Disney for Seniors Group Meetup. The Group decided to meet at EPCOT for a couple of hours. We had so much fun!

And now, towards the end of our first year, we have our 1st anniversary celebration with a wonderful celebration sponsor, Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando! We are very greatful to the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, located in the Disney Springs area of Walt Disney World, for their generous 1st anniversary celebration awards.

  127. I am doing 2nd post but not including sum of numbers because of the only one entry rule for the contest.
    This is because after my entry, I went back to my Facebook and saw another post from Dan to put our complete name on the form and I did not do it. Also, the email I used is different because my original email has been hacked and I made new one.
    Hope this works because I need a visit from the Pacific Northwest for a celebration of Medicare coming of age this month and get out of the rain. 😉🤣

  131. 10+8+5= 23 total magic numbers of the 3 amazing videos. We have been a Disney family since our honeymoon in 1972. And, we’re still going strong! Thank you for your senior folks recognition and suggestions. Our major concerns presently are the definite need for grab bars in all DVC rooms!!

    • Hi Beverly, thank you for your entry and your comments. I just don’t get why Disney does not pay seniors more recognition in the USA. Perhaps someday they will … especially if our online community grows. And, I totally agree with the need for grab / safety bars in all of the Disney (and non-Disney) park restroom stalls and all of the bathrooms in all of the Disney resort guest rooms. It is such an relatively inexpensive thing to do yet not only adds to safety concerns of all guests but shows that Disney does care and listen to its guests. If Disney could decide to install the wall mounted shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in all of its guest room showers then there’s no reason, in my opinion, why they can’t also install grab / safety bars in the same places (plus around the toilets).
